This forum brought together 40 young entrepreneurs from Asia and Europe for an exchange of business ideas. The entrepreneurs were involved in high-tech industries such as telecommunications, multimedia, building automation, and intelligent building. Through this forum, they learnt about different business cultures and discussed ways to improve business co-operation and build a sustainable network between Asia and Europe.
The forum organisers also honoured outstanding participants with the AEYEF Award for their contribution to business co-operation between Asia and Europe. Three awards were given out to:
- Mr. Eddie Chang, CEO and President, Serial Systems Ltd., Singapore. His company had plans to establish offices throughout Europe to market a new high-tech disc recorder.
- Dr. Carsten Miller, CEO and President of Lingk & Sturzebecher Leichtbau GmbH, Germany. He designed a new hydraulic technology used in the shipping of heavy goods between Europe and South Korea.
- Mr. Jukka Mansikka, Managing Director of Netpoint International Ltd., Finland. His company offered new service concepts for companies wishing to enter the Asian market.
